was wondering if anyone in this group or elsewhere within the greater community, who would have had the experience, and a bit of knowledge on this additional installation on top of the already delivered products listed. Would appreciate feedback from anyone who has use this utility(RDDI)

Rational Asset Manager Java API

Hello, Can some one guide me on using Java API exposed by RAM 7.0 in .Net code? We are trying to automate some functions like create & manage software & other assets as part of application life cycle. We are trying to make use of Java API and using IKVMC tool to convert the jar files into dll. The challenge is with different versions of dependencies and the ikvmc tool itself, possibly the class loader. We looked to make use of WebServices, but not all functions exposed in wsdl, specifically createAsset, Create a new Version etc.

Appreciate any suggestions in this regard.

Rational DOORS Blocked by Endpoint Protection

We are running Rational DOORS 9.4. We have a network license, installed on one of our network servers. The DOORS client is running in a Windows 7 environment. The client workstation has Symantec Endpoint Protection installed linked to our network.

We have been successfully running DOORS, although we found we had to disable the Endpoint Protection client to be able to log-on to DOORS. However, due to changes in our corporate IT policy, we are now able to disable the Endpoint Client for only 30 minutes before the protect is restored, at which point we get booted our of DOORS. It seems to be the firewall component of Endpoint Protection that causes the problem. We've tried to identify an exception to add to the firewall, but so far have not been able to identify the DOORS component that is blocked. I assumed that it might be the license server component, but so far we haven't found the proper entry.

Do any users have any suggestions?

Doors Example Database

I installed the new Fix Pack files for Doors 9.4 (for Windows). My main database and Doors works fine, but the Example Database (9.4.0.1) doesn't allow me to log-in using the default Eric McCall with password Training. I can get in at the root level using the default Administrator account and password, but this doesn't load the Example Database.

There doesn't seem to be any notes or info on the Example Database 9.4.0.1 version and the support techs don't seem to understand the nature of the Example Database. Anyone else run into this problem?

RSA 8.x BPMN modeling

Anyone here using RSA with BPMN ? I'd like to know how to compensate for missing trigger events. Or if you are using UPIA how are you compensating since the RSA BPMN to UPIA "script" only converts tasks and swimlanes. No events are converted.

In Rational Service tester for SOA 8.2 version, I had created a datapool and followed by performance schedule, When I run the test it takes only the value provided in the attribute textbox and not the datapool values.

Rational DOORS: Ability to viewing locks

An enhancement request was just submitted to the Rational DOORS team enable a simple "view locks" capability for users who have permissions to "archive" or "partition" data. Information about this request follows with the rest of this post, but if you agree with this idea, could you please support it by logging your vote here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=24328 If you have any suggestions regarding how to allow users without manage database power to view locks, please reply to this post!

The reason for this request is that users with "manage database" power have the ability to manage locks. There is no way for someone without Manage Databse power to simply VIEW who has a lock on content. In order for someone who has the power to create archives to actually create their archive, they need to know that there are no locks on the data.

Because of all the elevated permissions that "Manage Database" allows (Change the name and default display scheme for the database, Configure the database login policy, Configure the SMTP mail server that the database uses, See the access rights for the database root, which control who can see the Database view in the database explorer, Manage locks, Delete baselines, Allow or remove Manage database powers for themselves and for other users), we cannot grant "Manage Database" permissions ot everyone who has the Create "Archive" or "Partition" power
