Hi everybody,

Earlier this month the 50th Common Europe Congress was held in my beautiful hometown Vienna. COMMON EUROPE is an umbrella organisation of national IBM user associations, representing most European countries. It is a non profit association of companies, organisations and individuals, who are involved in IT solutions, using IBM mid-range architecture and solutions. So they are focused on IBM Power systems, IBM i and AIX. COMMON stands for common interests. Of course there is also a COMMON in the US - you can find them at www.common.org.

At the Rational User Group Community we also have a common interest - software development with Rational products. So it´s always good to see other communities that also have something to share. It was a pleasure for me to represent our Rational interests at that conference. I talked about "2+ years with Rational on Power Systems - a customer success story". This is a very special story about a customer that started with Rational Team Concert 1.0 Beta and is now with Rational Team Concert Version 3 at full speed. You can find my slides for this presentation here.

It was a great conference with more than 80 presentations within six simultaneous streams - you can find the full agenda and most of the presentations at http://comeur.org/common/.

Have a great time

Alexander
